Taxonomy? what is it?
Taxonomy is the process of classifying and naming organisms. Scientists use Binomial Nomenclature. It uses to names for the species, usually in Latin. Scientists use it to name a species to know exactly what an animal or organism is. Such as if a taxonomist was telling another taxonomists that he is studying a bluejay the other would know exactly which one, because there are multiple bluejays in an area.
- Bluejay - Cyanocitta cristata
- Human - Homo sapien
- Jaguar - Panthera onca
- Pig - Sus scrofa domestica
